“God is a designer.“

- Angel Acevedo

Hello. I am an Art Director and Senior Presentation Designer from California. I have been in the graphic design field for over 25 years. I specialize in pitch deck presentations for capital campaigns, C-suite execs, Ted Talk style conference presentations, and pitching to SaaS B2B technical offerings with infographs.

Growing up in the Tech Innovation Capitol of the world, Silicon Valley, I have been inspired and challenged my whole career to produce high-quality work. I enjoy being creative in all areas of my life, which is why I accelerate in ideation processes. Living in the tech sector of Silicon Valley has taught me to:

  • work well in high-paced B2B, B2C, and SaaS work environments

  • stay up-to-date in marketing trends and emerging technologies

  • think globally for branding

  • produce stunning work

  • enjoy team collaborations with other experts in their field

  • apply innovative problem-solving techniques

  • lead and manage difficult clients and co-workers

  • be a strategic thinker

  • manage timelines and budgets well

  • have a ruthlessly keen eye for design

  • multi-task and deliver award-winning designs across multiple different medias

  • ultimately to enjoy what you do by dreaming big and pushing the limits of innovation and creativity

I have experience with freelance, in-house, and agency work. I enjoy fast-paced work environments and feed off of the energy of other like-minded creatives. I love working with marketing teams to see campaign strategies implemented. I am very skilled in taking complex technical systems and breaking them down into simple visual graphics that everyone can understand. I excel in casting vision and having high touch points in communication and story telling.

Having lived overseas in numerous different countries (Thailand, Iraq, Burma, South Korea, etc.), it has given me a better understanding of global world views. As an avid world traveller, I use my experiences to help me be creative in problem-solving design issues. Focusing on human-centric design.

The design projects I enjoy the most are ones with a social justice cause that will have a long-lasting impact to better someone’s quality of life. I have a huge passion for anti-human trafficking work. Here are some examples from when I was doing in-house design work for a non-profit in San Francisco, CA called Crazy Love:

1) Capital campaign, branding, fundraising strategy and marketing to raise 3.1 million dollars for their annual run rate of Agape International Missions (AIM). The initiative was called the “Freedom Mandate”. AIM’s primary objective is to rescue little children that are being sold for sex every night on the streets of Cambodia. The photos below are the behind the scenes of our marketing photo shoot in the Dogpatch district of San Francisco.

2) IDEO led Think Tank for International Justice Mission (IJM). IJM’s goal is to end slavery in our life-time. The now national director of strategic partnerships for IJM, Amanda Vohs, asked us to help host a problem-solving Think Tank event with the industries’ best minds from IDEO, Google, Dropbox, Facebook, etc. She presented us with the issue of child pornography being filmed in the Philippines and sold on the dark web. We ran a design sprint to generate multiple ideas on how to tackle this heinous crime. Some of the top take aways were: hire black hats to spam known perpetrators, use AI to do facial recognition to identify underage minors in videos, and educate the masses about the issue of human trafficking through various pop-up immersion experiences. Below are some photos from our Think Tank session at the Crazy Love office in San Francisco.

3) I am personally spear-heading an initiative at In Time Tec, called Abundant Pathways, to provide scholarships for those that have always drawn the short end of the stick in life. We are providing full-ride scholarships to individuals that come out of addiction and/or hard pasts to Boise Codeworks Bootcamp. We will provide mentorship and life coaching, which will lead to being a catalyst of change for their careers, with the goal of creating abundance in their lives inside and outside of the workplace.
